The observed threshold value for days with total precipitation above the 98th percentile for 1971-2000 was plotted for the U.S. Great Plains.
1. At each grid point, the threshold value for days with total precipitation above the 98th percentile was calculated for each year (provided data were available for 95% of the days at that grid point). 2. At each grid point, the mean threshold total daily precipitation was computed for the period 1971-2000. 3. Data were plotted for all grid points in the U.S. Great Plains.
