Methodology:

The monthly mean NOAA tide gauge water level data and rates of vertical land motion estimates at these locations are used from the published data set in NOAA CO-OP Tech Report #86 to determine the U.S. sea level data series for each year. Only tide gauges with data for the given year are used. The result yields - annual median (+/- 1 stdev) sea level along the U.S. coast measured by NOAA tides gauges with land motion removed using estimates of Sweet et al. (2017). Sweet et al. (2017) refers to the assessed global rise scenarios of the U.S. Federal Interagency Sea Level Rise and Coastal Flood Hazard Task Force.

The data (annual median sea level) are plotted as a time-series graph by year from 1920-2017.
