Abstract Most of ADB’s Pacific developing member countries (DMCs)1 are small and remote, with fragile biodiversity, and among the nations most vulnerable to the impacts of climate change. Pacific DMCs are unable to absorb the economic shocks attributed to climate impacts, and are constrained by low human, financial, and technical capacity; limited availability of scientific information; and poor coordination between the numerous donors. The regional capacity development TA aimed to assist the Pacific DMCs to build resilience to climate change, climate variability, and extreme weather events through adaptation and, where possible, mitigation, taking into account local country-specific issues and needs, and complementing existing climate change activities in the region.
