Variations in the annual April 1 snow water equivalent at the Tangent Snow Course site, located near Bend, OR. Snow water equivalent (SWE) is the amount of water contained within the snowpack. SWE is highly variable from year to year. There was no snowpack in 2015 due to unusually low precipitation and warm temperatures during the first three months of the year.
