This figure appears in chapter 8 of the Second State of the Carbon Cycle Report (SOCCR2): A Sustained Assessment Report report.

Many National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration aircraft sites were terminated after 2005. Unlike “surface” sites, “tower” sites generally have inlets 100 m to 400 m above the surface and sometimes sample air above the planetary boundary layer. About 90% of both tower and surface sites also report methane measurements.
