Projected changes in global surface temperature and precipitation
This figure appears in chapter executive-summary of the Climate Change Global Food Security and the U.S. Food System report.
Projected changes in global surface temperature (a) and precipitation (b). Mid (left) and late (right) 21st century changes are compared with the period 1986 to 2005 for low emissions (RCP 2.6 – top) and high emissions (RCP 8.5 – bottom) scenarios. Multimodel ensemble-mean changes are shown, where gray dashes indicate areas for which changes have less than one standard deviation compared to natural variability. This figure was produced using CMIP5 model output through the web application “Climate Explorer,”.
