Figure : global-average-temperature-change-relative-1986-2005-baseline

Global average temperature change relative to 1986–2005 baseline

Figure 3.10

This figure appears in chapter 3 of the Climate Change Global Food Security and the U.S. Food System report.

Time series of surface temperature under historical forcings (gray) and future RCPs 2.6 (low-emissions scenario, in blue), 4.5 (aqua), 6.0 (orange), and 8.5 (high-emissions scenario, in red) are shown out to 2100. Thin lines show individual model trajectories; thick lines show the multimodel ensemble mean. Boxplots in margin show the distribution (mean, interquartile range, and 90% range) derived from the model ensemble for the average changes over the 20-year period at the end of the century. This figure was produced using CMIP5 model output through the web application “Climate Explorer,”.
